This is proabably my favorite picture I've done all year...heh, and it pretty much took the better part of a year too;
I actually started it around this time last year! I uploaded some detail shots yesterday, and thanks to ~Meisekimu's advise, I've fixed Samatha's ear for this version. The original is so much bigger than this!

The book they are reading is 'Monsters of the Forgotten Lands', which Samantha got Sabin for a Christmas present before ^_^V
The patternation on Samanthas skin is not a tattoo, so much as a series of naturally occuring rune-like markings over her body.
Sabin isn't a vampire! He's ....hmm...well it's hard to explain XD I guess I could say hes a half-shadow creature. If you'd like to read more about the characters, visit ~arania's site at [link]
The window scenery is a mix between a photo I took, and normal photoshop painting, with some falling snow drawn on for good measure.
