[ The Jabberwock ]'s running a contest on Gaia to draw Envy from Full Metal Alchemist. I've been a fan of th series for a while now, and quite like Envy, so I figured I had to have a go. Any excuse to draw some FMA fanart at last XD I really must find some spare time to draw Roy!
Anywho, I based the pose off an old oekaki I drew a while ago, I think I've improved on the pose a bit since then^^ Also, since I was short on time, I decided to colour cel-style (well...mostly ) and actually, I'm glad I did, it makes a nice change from me.
(Would you guys like to see more of this style of shading from me, or should I stick to my smooth-shading thing like the rest of my pics?) Please click the image to get full view Thanks ^_^
WOw that's like RIGHT out of the anime! it so looks it! you have really great cel shading, but i also like your smooth shading- 'cus it's soooooo beautiful!
I've already seen plenty of artists who do cel shading, your soft shading looks really unique and so full of life so I prefer that. Everyone jumping on the FMA fanart bandwagon *j/k* Altho there are a lot LOL! XD
OH ENVYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!! He is one of my favorite characters in FMA. T_T You chose such a lovely angle to draw this at (ohoho, Envy butt <33).
You pulled off hard-edged shading really well (it actually looks like it came straight out of the anime, albeit in your style), but I think your softer coloring looks equally wonderful. T_T You should really just color however you feel like coloring - everyone will like it, regardless. :d
Holy crap does that look professional. Like... I'm talking manga-screenshot professional. THe cel-style.. looks great. The hair is amazing. He (?, I've never seen the series) looks so smug. I like teh skir and the little dragon on the thigh. I'm so sure you'll win. XD
